Default Please Help!!! ESP/ABS problems

I recently did some front end work and I'm now experiencing some major problems with the esp and abs system. Please help! I can't drive the car like it is.

What I did:

Replaced left and right axle half shafts (cv joints), replaced both outer tie rod ends, replaced upper left front control arm w/ball joint.

What happened:

I immediately took the car in to be aligned, the tech said it was pretty close, made a few minor adjustments. On the way home I noticed some noise (sounded like a deep honing sound)and the brakes started to engage and disengage erratically so much that i pulled over cause I thought something was really wrong. The ESP light came on (the circle with the triangle in it) as well as the abs light. Now the car makes the noise, the brakes act erratically and and the lights stay on at even very low speeds (5-10 mph).

It's gotta be some kind of sensor somewhere. There is no mechanical impediment (the wheel spin freely with no noise when on jack stand). I dont have a diagnostic tool yet, but based on the symptoms does anyone have any ideas? Any other test i can run to eliminate things? Anything I could have done doing the work listed above that could have caused this?

Please help!!

Did you torque the centre CV joint bolt to the correct setting?

Yep, the CV joint bolt was new with the new axles and I torked into to Audi specs (133 lbs if I remember exactly)

Thanks a ton you indirectly solved my problem! The speed sensors were installed correctly but I thought I'd pull em out and take a look and they were completely covered in axle grease. When the old CV boots tore they spun grease everywhere and after removal I sprayed everything down with brake cleaner, the runoff collected in the hole where the speed sensor sits in the bearing hub covering the sensor with grease and junk. I cleaned em up, put em back in and problem was solved. Thanks again.

did you remove the speed sensor to reinstall the axle? I didn't and ended up damaging the sensor when I torqued everything down. You should be able to run vag-com and check for codes or pull it out and check for damage.
