Default hesitation issues

Ok. I did search the forum and did not find anything.

My 98 A6 hesitates on the first gear. When I step on the gas, it will hesitate for a second then will take off. it will do this when it is hot or cold. it will also do this when it is in park and if I step on the gas, if will shake a little bit like it is hesitating of choking.

I have replaced 5 out of six plugs and it still does this. I also found some oil in the plugs area. should I change the valve cover gasket also?

What do you guys think?

Thanks,

Interesting...I generally replace six out of six plugs if I'm going to bother replacing plugs. Why (and how do you know WHICH 5) did you replace only five plugs?

I've also found that throttle bodies coated with deposits from the PCV system (or other sources of dirt/oil) can cause poor throttle response.

Intake valve deposits can cause problems as well as dirty fuel injectors.

Default log channels 015 and 016 during "hesitation". It will show you

which cylinder(s) misfire(s).

I've successfully replaced one injector this way.
