If it were the immobiliser, it's easy to identify.
The engine will turn over and start. It will then almost immediately stall.
This will be associated with a flashing yellow emblem in the speedo which looks like the front half of a car with a key in the rear half.

One possibility is failing ignition switch. They have odd failure modes.

Your post's facts are not very structured, so its hard to use them for much analysis.

Likely culprit is coolant temperature sensor. A common failure, similar symptoms to yours.

Other possibilities are cam position sensor an engine speed sensor.

Try to scan your car for codes. If no codes are present, replace the coolant temp sensor.

If still an issue, look into ignition switch and then fuel pump.

+1 for Coolant temp sensor. I know for sure on a 2.7T it is exactly what caused this behavior. On a 4.2, not 100% sure but would be the place to start imo.

A bad CTS sensor doesn't usually throw codes. It simply reports erroneous temperature, an the ECU prepares a wrong mixture.
