Default Heated seat/seat memory module questions (long) -

For Christmas, the A6 got a set of sport seats! The good news is that they are heated (living in MN, this is really a plus - the car is originally from CA which makes working on it easy (never had a pinch bolt issue), but the cold comfort seats were enough after a couple years) - I wired up the new climate control without TOO much issue (Bentley is a must for that), but I have a couple of questions for the seat gurus:

1. Heated seat temps - the heat definitely works, but from what I have read I should be jumping out of the seat on setting 6. As is turns out, setting 6 is perfect; maybe just a tad warm after a while. I wired it up according to the Bentley diagram with a separate wire and fuse for the thermostat and heating element. Anyone know exactly how that works? I have it wired to the 75X terminal for switched power.

2. Memory module - The seats I have came out of car with memory on the both the passenger and driver sides; my car originally came with memory on only the driver side. Unfortunately, the yard stripped the modules out of these seats before shipping them to me. I was able to use the one for the driver side, but the passenger side now has NO adjustments (and is not even close to be being in a comfortable position). What I need to know is if I install a memory module, will that pass power to the adjustment switches? I do not have the harness/plug on that side and do not plan on wiring it up - I would love to just install the module and have adjustments rather than trying to figure out how to bypass it to get power there.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions - thanks to all who have contributed to write-ups about swaps; they were very helpful.

Default 1

I usually kick start heated seats in both our cars at #4, then adjust lower from there. Just last night in the S after about 10 minutes I had the adjustment between 1 & 2 when the outside temp was +18°. In 4 years, I don't think I've ever gone beyond setting 4.

I leave it on 3. 6 is too hot for me, but my wife will go with 6 for quite a while before reducing!
