Default Got my 2.7T!

I know, I know, horrible photo, But I'll blame the Arizona sun for that (shadows upon shadows). When I have time, I'll find a spot a little more romantic than the parking lot and take some more photos.

Car arrived Saturday. Some initial observations after a weekend of normal driving...

- The engine sounds amazing.

- SO MUCH more headroom than my old C4 A6. That sweeping roofline adds a couple inches.

- SO MUCH nicer on the interior. Everything inside is nicer. Quieter, softer, better looking and more convenient everywhere you look. And the C4 has an amazing interior, I'll say.

- Incredible power. I only drive in the city, so it's somewhat unsafe to use very often, but bursting from 30-50 in tip mode is so much fun.

- Feels about the same as the 2003 and 2004 2.7Ts I drove. In-city handling is the same... acceleration just as smooth, probably feels faster just because it's not a test drive.

- I think I may just keep it stock! I have always loved how Audi configures cars from the factory. Maybe in a couple years I'll throw some H&Rs and RS6 wheels on to freshen things up, but I'm going to enjoy it as it is now.

- The sport seats are amazing! Or so I hear... I'm about 6', 160lbs and my back doesn't even touch the bolsters. But passengers have raved. On the other hand, the S4 Recaros totally held me in perfectly. They are obviously smaller. Well, the sport seats LOOK cool, anyway! Maybe when I do some twisties they'll show their value.

- Long live steering wheel radio controls!!! =)

I could go on.

For those curious, the car is a 2000 ming/melange 2.7T tip w/premium, xenons, sport, nav, parktronic and head airbags. About 69,500 miles, Audi Assured with new tires, brakes, timing belt service, and valve seals ($2500 worth). The car has been very well cared for... perfect paint and 99% on the interior.

I bought it from Key Audi in Jacksonville FL and had it shipped to AZ. The shipping company got it here 36 hours after pickup (yes... the driver went straight through from FL to AZ and mine was the first stop). After dropping it off here, he went right back out onto the road. In his words, "Nobody beats me!!!"

If you're shipping a car from California or Florida to ANY southern state, I would highly recommend Signature Carriers (800-535-0477). They're based in FL and CA. He makes coast-to-coast trips three times a month. Awesome service.

And with those compliments, I should mention how great the people at Key Audi are... both before and after the sale they took care of all the details. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the deal and have no regrets.

This car makes me want to take some long road trips. Right now! =)
