What are you doing with that 16V Scirocco?
Saw the one in your sig, and I had one exactly like that about 10+ yrs ago. Sometimes I still regret letting it go, even if I had to just stick it in the corner of my garage somewhere and take it out only once in awhile, it'd have been worth it to hang onto. That was a damn fun car.

picked it up with a bad motor, put a 2.0 16v block in it, it's almost done but
little time & money right now, once it warms up and I have some free time I should finish. I've never driven one, but this is the second one I had. I bought another rusted project up in NY about 6 years ago and got it running but it was too far gone.
I'd love to just have it as a spare/weekend car & do just as you said with it...

Nice. Way back when I wanted to drop in a 2.0 as well, but you know how it goes
I was in school at the time and had too little $$ and time. That little extra bit of grunt at the low end will be a very positive improvement.
It's great that people still appreciate these cars and are putting in the effort to keep them on the road. I still smile every time I see one, which these days is NOT very often at all.
It's funny how even though I've had many great cars since my 16V Scirocco (Coupe Quattro, E46 325ci, A6, and my current C5 S6) I still miss that one like crazy.
Hope that the rest of the project goes well and that the car has a long happy life.

2nd the bilstein HD being very harsh
i couldn't agree with you more, the bilstein's are just way too harsh.
I upgraded to eibach pro springs and the bilsteins at 54k. Now i'm at 77k and anytime I drive over a pothole, bump, seam, whatever, it's just brutal. And being in NY it happens often. On top of that i get a nice new rattle everyday.
I mean they did the job to tighten up the car but at what cost. My conclusion I wouldn't recommend them for anyone that values a rattle free car.
