Good start to new year: best friend survived pneumonia septic shock! (& audio problem)
While I was with my wife getting an elective procedure at the hospital nearby, I got a text message saying my closest friend was in a Fresno ICU with septic shock and pneumonia... her blood pressure had dropped to 60/40. Ten liters of fluids and lots of vasopressors and antibiotics later, and three days in the ICU, she was moved into the normal wing of the hospital, which is when I made it to Fresno to visit. Sat with her for 2 days until I could take her home. This is someone I've been close to for 28 years!
My wife was quite tolerant of my disappearing so soon after her procedure, but she had gone home the same day and was doing well.
Audi content: Good ol' "Rumpy," my A6/4.2, took me quite quickly to Fresno from Silicon valley. Well over 100 at times. Only complaint was a skipping CD player (and changer too) at low temperature, close to freezing. Hasn't recurred since, but I suspect a bad contact, either in the steering wheel controls (the rotating contacts perhaps) or at some other connection or solder joint.
Any idea what it would cost me to can get a Symphony (2001) in great shape?

Search for Eclipse 5435 on Audiworld. The pictures of my gps,dvd headunit install look real good. I would think that this is a perfect time to upgrade to 24 bit sound quality. I have stock 2001 Bose premium sound speakers driven by the 50Wx4 internal Eclipse amp. The system sounds great. If you want my old Symphony single cd/tape headunit you can have it.

I've been sitting on the head unit, amps and speakers...
..just need to buy some subs and do the install.
Problem is, my track record. The last 2 systems I put in, I wound up selling/trading in the vehicle for soemthing new shortly after.
