Stupid hose that broke for the EVAP line.

Alternator, Starter, and serpentine belt on. Now figuring out the electrical.

Does anyone have a good pic of the starter /alternator wiring? I am trying to figure out the ground wire. The 2 leads and clip all come down and T off from the positive. But there is a single ground from the block and i can't remember where it went to.

If you take a picture of the area where the ground wire goes and where you can see the alternator and surrounding area I should be able to point out to you where it goes.

The hose you broke, I replaced mine with just fuel line from NAPA. Don't see why you would have to buy that from audi.

I did find where the ground wire goes. It is a chassis ground. It confused me since I left the one to the other motor in the car.

I am picking up the hose today to replace it.

Thank you for your help.

Nice work man... How long did it take to get the pipe's broken up and welded back together? I've only got a small MIG welder but have considered it for some time. Keep up the good work!

It took about 2 hours busting the mesh out of the first one. Took about 10 minutes to torch out the second one. Just be careful if torching. The platinum hold head very ell. Had to patch a hole in the second one.

The welding took about 30 minutes combined with a 115v mig welder.

It should be going back in the car in the next week. Just finishing the wiring harness. 2 of the sensor leads are different from an APB and BEL block. So I need to switch the leads plug ends.

The ends to what ever these sensors are do not match from APB to BEL motors.

Hate to do this. But not tearing the motor down to switch the whole sensor. Wire colors match up. And i did Heat shrink them.

Knock sensors. Piezoelectric. mounting torque can be sensitive. Very sensitive signal. If your engine goes into limp mode when you get it back in and running these can be the problem. Hopefully the splices work out.
