Hey guys, I have a 2001 A6 2.7T with cruise control problem, so I wanted to try this repair as it seems like an easy fix.

Only problem is I cannot locate this cruise control module.

I took the glove box out and looked everywhere for it but couldn't find it.

Any chance one of you can explain me where it is, or even better post a picture of it?

Thanks for your help.

The definitive solution is send them to module masters for repair. I did on my A4 and A6 and they work great. I tried doing the soldering some pins, which has worked for other odd modules on some cars, this didn't work. When I sent it to module masters they said there are several reasons they stop working not just poor soldering joints, and they address them all, and replace a few components. So if soldering didnt work, send them to module masters, 65$ you know it will work.

Thought I'd chime in again - I'm the author of this thread, and I just want to confirm that after almost 7 years since performing this fix, its still working!

UPDATE: 8/18 - still works!!!

Get the Bentley's manual and it will tell you where it is. Or post a separate question in separate thread asking for the location, then if someone answers it make sure you update your post to reflect where.

Good luck!

His car is a drive by wire, there is no "module" its part of the engine computer logic. Only 99 and earlier cars with a throttle cable have the module.

Is there a common CC failure point for post 1999 models (w/o module)? My son's 2000 A6 hasn't been working for over a year, but I moved onto fixing other car stuff once I saw the CC module was not behind glove box, as indicated for the earlier models.
