The driver door does not open anymore. When I press the unlock button from the inside, it clicks and the but I cannot open the door. I tried from the outside and the same problem. The key turns, I hear the mechanism but it won't open.
I recently changed the battery and also sprayed water on the car without covering up the battery compartment (it was dirty and had to do a quick wash stupid me)
I read a couple of posts and they say to disconnect the battery and re-connect it. Tried that and it didn't work. Another post said I have to take the door card off and manually release the latch. I managed to take the door card off by destroying it (have a spare) but I can't seem to release it using the latch. Now I'm really stuck
. Is there any other way to release the latch manually or unlock manually? See pic of lock.

Problem solved. Had to rip out the door card and destroy it basically. Changed the lock actuator and it works fine. Now onto the rear window not going up and sunroof not opening. Initial research shows possible Comfort Control Module reset (unplug, clean connections and replug).
