Clean bill of health for turbos but got me thinking about a warranty, so more questions (lil long)
one recently posted by jmac4.2. The quote for my car was 1900, for the "supreme plus" (not exclusionary.)
Before I sign on though...this coverage includes
""3. Turbo/Supercharger - All internal parts within the turbo/supercharger housing only. (+labor)""
IS this what needs to be covered? Sorry for the stupid noob question, but this is my first turbo and I am just getting an idea of how turbos work from STFA...will this cover me if the turbos blow down the line...or are the wastegates, housing and seals more likely to give up the ghost?
In other words, when a turbo blows..it is an internal part within the turbo/supercharger only, or is it something else?
Sorry I searched for this answer..but I couldnt find what I was looking for.

wastegate on VW/Audi is indeed part of the turbo
you cannot buy the wastegate separately. Make sure the warranty covers the wastegate as it can get rusted, the diaphram can split, and fail.

THANKS NIM ET. ALL. thats what i was asking..in short, if the parts of a turbo that usually fail are
inside the turbo housing. My head is spinning faster than a turbine from reviewing warranty contracts and trying to understand them with my limited mechanical knowlege.
But hey, thats why Al Gore invented the internets, to help people share info (as long as its not copyrighted by the RIAA).
