CEL code question (P3081)
Hello all,
First time posting here, but have been reading and following post for a while now. This site was a big help in researching before I bought my 04 2.7T Lots of great info and knowledgeable members.
With that said, I am hoping to get a little help here.
I threw a CEL the other day. P3081.
Pulled the code, and it said it was "Fuel Air Metering Auxiliary Emissions Controls".
But my Google searching, and forum searching has stated it as a "low engine temp" and related it to the ECT the G62 sensor, and thermostat. Also mentioned a G83 sensor?
I am new to Audi's so I am trying to learn here, as much as I can.
Just wondering why the two different code definitions, the MAF and the engine cooling?
The car has about 80K on it, and I am getting ready (cash flow pending) within the next couple months to do the timing belt, water pump change. I suppose I can wait till then and fix this problem too, but I'd rather just do it now.
The car runs fine, my coolant gauge stays in the middle, it does not seem to be running cold, so I am thinking it's not a stuck thermostat. Right? But for piece of mind, and since it does have 80K on it, I should just replace it anyways.
I guess what I am asking is - should I go ahead and replace the G62, the thermostat AND the MAF as well?
I have read the G62 is a green sensor and located in the back? Kinda hard to get to? Any advice or tips?
Others who have had this code come up what was your fix?
Thanks a lot for any info guys,
