Car won't start, starter sounds fine - maybe ignition switch?

well you have no fuel. no spark or no compression
no spark is easiest to check ..put a spare plug on a lead,ground it and turn it over and see if you have spark
..no compresion ..timing belt.. inspect under the covers
..no fuel .. a bit tougher as you may need a fuel presssure tester or take an injector out ...
but i have to ask .. you have gas right ?

so this can certainly be the ignition switch. It happened to me (C4).
But as airbag said, fire + gas + air = bang. Do you have all 3?
Having a 3/4 full gas tank is of no consequence. Is it squirting out the injectors?
Is the spark plug sparking?
