Default I'm with you. I love my car, but I've never...

...owned a car with so many problems. When it works, this is one of the nicest cars I've owned. But good lord as soon as one gremlin is euthanized, two more pop-up to take its place!

Unusual (for any other car with 75K on the clock) major repairs in the last year: catalytic converter, torque converter

Current unsolved mysteries: incessant clicking from the flasher relay that only got worse when replaced, mysterious dissappearing oil

Obnoxious poor design quality repairs: warning triangle door latch/hinge in rear hatch.

My wife's 2001 Sebring lxi sedan might not handle as well or look as sexy, but it hasn't needed ANYTHING other than oil changes and brakes in the entire time I've owned my Audi and it has 107 on the clock and is two years older.

This reminds me of Jaguar before Ford bought it: owners prided themselves on being a part of an exclusive club that would put up with a car that cost an arm and a leg to fix and was ALWAYS broken.

Please tell me my problems are rare and I'll consider buying another Audi. Otherwise, I may be trying something else next time.

-Frustration!

Default Did yu say the flasher reayy, oil leaks, and TC failure are rare on C5s?

Am I in a parallel universe?

Those are known, common faults, along with TREs CAs and wheel balance sensitivity.

Default I'll say I only have experienced the flasher relay failure on my 2.8. Neither car has any leaks,

no electrical issues, no codes thrown, etc. Door sensor? First time I've heard that one. Don't bang into things (or potholes) and you probably won't have wheel balance issues. Some of us must lead charmed lives.

Default Not talking about out of balance wheels. Talking about so sensitive that

most balancers are inadequate. My local, which can do all my cars to perfection, cant get my S6 wheels close to good enough. Small weight changes and even weight location changes throw it off - into shimmy city. Confirmed as common by Euro-tire, Tire Rack ( Luke), and Shade Tree ( with their mighty Hunter 9700).

Take the wheels off my car, put them on a random C-series (or othr car they fit properly) - no problem. Hmm.

Leaks - I've been charmed too, but read the stats, or this forum.

Flasher relays? 3 in the last week on this forum.

Door thingy - I missed that.

TC - read thsi forum; D2 forum. Way too many failures.

Read LD power over the years.

Opinions vary. Statistics develop over long periods of time. Some of these are established statistics.

Default Re: I can appreciate his review, not everyone has a warranty, and likes to fix

c'mon man?
i am 35 yr. old and this is not my first car.
let me see, from 1995 when i came to canada (from europe)i drove honda civic, honda accord, nisan nx2000, nisan sentra, nisan maxima, eagle talon, jeep cheeroke..etc.
I don't want to say that there is no repairs on audi but interior falling apart, door handle, transmision on 100k. like i said am i lucky or these people lie. i have 200 000 and what i did is timming belt on 145 000 first time, brake job, couple of times turned of check engine light and this is it.
How many tiptronic trans you seen broken?
I will call myself from now on the luckiest person in the world i belive.

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/113660/pict0017.jpg"></center><p>Poor resale value???
this is 2008 my car is 1999 and in canada resale value is around 9000.

How much is resale value for any car 9 years old???

No rust, all original parts, heated seats,A/C power everything, abs, quatro, heated steering, leather, sunroof, fog lights, enough power for 2.8 engine.
Other words: I would like to know aside all repairs how many people drove audi then buy car other brand (don't metter which car they bought) and how they feel???

Default Nope. Tight as a drum

I did replace the TREs and 1 upper CA.

And with properly balanced tires ( e.g. ones with minimal runout that require only a few 1/4 oz weights) - all is great.

Have you really done balancing work on lots of S6s and faced no challenges? And when you did so, did you record radial runout - clearly cars dont vibrate without impetus.
