at 160K it dEsErVed a lot of work. maybe it will serve him well for another 100K now (we can hope).
i had a 535i that was flawless through 150K, then cost me a small fortune between 150K and 160K. after fixing THE LIST of failures, the car went the next 75K with NO mechanical failures. i sold it to my old college roomate who is still driving the car with over 400K now and no serious issues.

I've looking for a Boxster S myself and for 40K a Carrera 2 is a great deal. Lovely color and I like the body kit. Not flashy and very unique.
