can anyone help me out, i need the radio code for my a6, i am headed out this afternoon on a long

1st Radio been replaced? If original, code shd B insd cover 4 rdo manual
If the radio has been replaced in the past, the code should have been provided by whom ever replaced radio.

If you really need the code, go to your local Audi dealer...
...and pay the hour labor (highway robbery!) and they will hook up the car with the factory to pull the code for you. Then, make sure you record the radio code so you never need to pay for that again!
Unless you have the original manual with the radio security card, I am not aware of another method outside of the dealership, or replacing the head unit.
