bearing failing.
I really don't want to go in again for that damn seal. The drips start hitting the garage floor about 4K miles after I change the oil and clean everything up.
Would you leave it alone until the leak really increases or the next T-belt change which is in about another 45K?

I'd do them. I hate leaks. Do the cam adjuster seals and cam plugs while you are in there.
Are you sure it's the cam seals? Also check the cams for damage at the seal area. That sounds like a lot of oil for a cam seal leak.

And check for PCV? Positive pressure forcing oil out?

thoughts....
I'm so 'tired' of the engine oil leaks I've allegedley had in my A6 that I just check the level...I've had "drips" according to the dealers from my oil pan plug, the upper oil pan gasket, cam seal (replaced once already)...I just said F-it...I'll check the level from time to time and add oil if ever needed (haven't needed it yet prior to the oil changes...which are 4-5K) and WHEN I get my garage built I'll put an oil catch on the floor below the car for the remaining life of my car....if I were you, I'd put a catch below and check the level once a week through the -X- # of miles you go before you next oil change...if it's an alarming drop then rethink getting it fixed...if it's nothing a quart added between changes won't take care of, I'd just add the quart....anyway, my 2-cents (adjusted to 1.3 in todays economy)
interestingly enough, these leaks have not been re-cited to me in visits following to the dealer......hmmmmmm!

I did the cam adjuster seals and and plugs when I did the timing belt redo. The only thing I didn't
do when I was in there were the cam seals again because it was only 15K miles prior and they were dry.
The leak is coming from behind the timing belt cover as I have not taken everything apart to see the real issue, but it lines right up with the cam seal on the passenger side.
