C5 Mileage Thread. What are you at?
I know 4Driver4 might have us all beat, but i'm wondering what the mileage range is for the c5's driving around, and if certain engines seem to be sticking around longer than others
I'm at 118,xxx on my '99 2.8
roughly about 12k mikes a year since the boat arrived with it

usage of tip has an effect on transmission reliability?
In my own experiences, my 3rd to 4th gear can be a little rough in Auto, but smooth in Tip. I assumed using tip would benefit the car because the driver can manipulate the gears to only shift when they need it and pretty much eliminate the unneeded shifts when accelerating right after a slowing down slightly. myth on my part?

I've always thought tip was tougher on the trans. This stems from the early days (early 1990's) when computer controlled shifting was new and Audi and VW came with "sport mode" buttons. When transmissions failed, it seemed to be in cars where the owners frequently used that button. When we bought a 1993, wife was told never to touch that button. That car lasted 180k before someone rear ended it.
IMHO, if you want a stick, buy a stick. If you have an auto, drive it like one. This transmission is on its second filter, and it will be on its third in a few weeks.
This reminds me a joke/saying that a former co-worker was fond of:
How do you keep an erection?
