Audi Service advisor: 2.7T A6's are very rare cars , not many made
So the wife and I have been doing some talking. I think as I've mentioned before, we have a unique A6. Melange Ext. with a Dark 4 tone colored interior (burgundy, black, dark walnut, grey). In the 4 yrs we've owned this car, we've never seen another white, Melange, or similar light colored (except silver) A6 with a dark interior. Our owners manual, warranty book, and other documents are stamped Special Edition on the introduction page below the car name.
Also, last week when the wife was having a CV Boot replaced, another Audi owner was at the same Brakes Plus getting an oil change. This was an older gentleman who said he used to work at an Audi dealer in Tx. for 15 yrs in the late 80's and '90s. He was commented that he too had never seen that color combination.
So today, I made some phone calls to my local dealers, wanting to see if there is anyway to find out just how rare our car may be. Called one Audi dealer and spoke with a Service advisor who states: 2.7T A6's, especially quattro cars are very rare, only a limited number, maybe 2,000 total were imported in '99, '00, '01. Hmmm, if this is the case, then all 2,000 of those cars must reside in Colorado, because I bet on a daily basis, I see 10 to 15 2.7 A6's.
Later, I talked to the Manager of one dealers body shop. He's been the manager for 4 yrs, been doing body work on Audi, Porsche, VW for 15 yrs. He can't recall ever seeing another A6 with this color combination. He suggested I talk to the dealership salesmanager or GM and maybe they can help. Both have 20 to 30 yrs exp. selling Audi's.
FWIW, if our car is this rare, I might see about adjusting our insurance coverage.

Rare, maybe. Collectible, not so much. LOL

While the combo might be unique, that doesn't make it desirable. The A62.7 has close....
to zero long term collectibility ....especially tan examples. sorry.
If anything the drive lines will have value...that's it.

Yep, quattro 2.7T's are rare. If by rare, they mean that 100% of 2.7T's are quattro...
...there were around 10,000 2.7T S4's imported to the USA and a lot more 2.7T A6 and allroads.

I think your interior with this color (gray?) exterior, 2002+ 4.2 would be my ultimate C5

I might have kept mine with that combo
My silver with royal blue/vanilla was cool though. Man I miss my 4.2
