Default Will a 2005 A4 compass mirror fit our cars?

I have a 2000 A6 2.7T with autodim fluid on my shifter... I know a 2005 A6 mirror will not fit the mounting plate, but it seems that the 2005 A4 would. Just wanted to confirm before I spend money on a part that won't fit.

Thanks

Default As a matter of fact...

I can tell you with certainty that yes, it will. I just intalled a mirror from a B6 A4 into my car 15 minutes ago. Slipped right on without a hitch. Just keep and re-use the 2 trim pieces that cover the wires, and you're good to go.

The only stumble I had was pulling on the wrong part of the wire connection when removing the old mirror. It was a bit dark in the garage, and after pulling and swearing at the thing for a few minutes, I looked over at the new mirror, and realized my mistake. It was smooth sailing from there.

After losing a few eBay bidding wars, I called around at various car "recyclers" and found one in Quebec with a 2003 A4. They pulled it, and shipped it to me for $125.

Here's a tech article to quide you if you need it.
