Any of you 6-speeders have a tough time shifting into 2nd when it's cold?
The past few mornings here in MD have been in the low 40s and even low 30s. Pulling out onto my street, 2nd gear is REALLY stiff and doesn't want to engage until the vehicle slows down to a few MPH. It eventually gets smooth, but not until half way to work (~5 miles of 30-40 mph with a few stops).
Anyone have the same deal? Think I'm due for a fluid change at 75k miles, if it hasn't been done recently (if at all)? Thanks for any input.

Redlined fixed a simillar issue of mine
I had sme simillar issues but a little more related to the 2nd synchro but after i changed the oil to the Redline MT90 it seems to work much better.

Results are pretty unanimous; fluid change it is!
My old CQ (332k miles old) has the same issue, I put in Redline and it was great, but got worse than it originally was after about 3 months. I put the 'right' stuff in and it has been great for almost 2 years. I hope the Redline doesn't adversely affect the A6 in the long run...I guess we'll see.

Here was the fix on our car....
I found the driveline mounts were collasped and really changed the way the car shifted. Here's what I replaced:
-new motor mounts
-new trans mounts
-Redline MTL in the trans
-Redline MT-90 in the diff
It was a marked improvement afterwards. Next month is a new diff mount and clutch kit.
