Default A6 tranny problem

What's up world? I have an a6 Quattro and my forward gears seem to be sluggish. Reverse works great and it does drive but takes forever to get up to speed! Could this be a clogged tranny filter or a shot tranny? Checked the fluid and it was a dark brown or blackish color! Any info would be great!

My screen is unreadable and not sure about limp mode! What would cause that?

Change the fluid. And filter. They say it's a seald unit. But needs flushed and changed. And put the good stuff in. Mine has 150,000 on it and when I flushed it, it is like new. Shifts firm and is not sluggish. I spent about 200 bucks doing it but at 10 dollars a quart it did the job.

When ur tranny module goes bad, it puts the car in limp mode. But mine went bad because of water damage.

Hes talking about the screen on the dash. He cant see if the numbers are lit up indicating limp mode.

Get a scanner that can pull transmission codes and see what it says. if it says gear monitoring the trans is junk.

Check ur module under the passenger side floorboard. Make sure it's not damp. Mine got trashed because water ran in. Could only start the car in park or neutral. Had to replace the module. If it is damp from sitting outside the u have a plugged drain under the battery. U have to remove the battery. Then take out the tray and clean out the drain. The mods ain't cheap, like 1400 for a new one. I got one for 500 off eBay and works fine. Another thing. If ur mod does go bad u can unplug it and get it home. But it will be in limp mode. Would def change the tranny fluid and filter. I used AMS oil. Go to their website and it will tell u what to use. I drained and refilled and put their cleaner in it and went through each gear for about 20 seconds. Then drained again and put new filter and oil in. Works great. I just wish I could get my electrical issues fixed.
