A6 2.8 MAF sensor problem
My A6 had a water hose leak, the small ones at the back of the engine. I removed the injectors and inlet manifold completely to check the metal pipes as well. The metals were fine and the rubber pipes were bad so I replaced them. I did not plug the injector for cylinder 6 properly but I could drive, with the shudder though. I drove for 10km, parked, and when I tried to start again after an hour the car would run only for a few seconds and die showing EPC on dash. Being far away from base I did not have my diagnosis kit so I enlisted the help of the best VAG guys in town (or so they claim).
They could not pick the open circuit at injector 6. They unplugged the MAF sensor and the car started but now showing EPC, ESP and ABS on dash. I drove on 5 cylinders to base (1000km away) and plugged the diagnosis and replugged the #6 injector and am driving fine with my 3 errors showing.
Is it normal for MAF sensor to kill engine start like that or somethinhg else was affected by the non functional injector?
The diagnosis is saying the ABS and AUTOTRANS is getting "error message from ECU P1857 and P1856"

Assuming that you had no codes prior.....
Something in the wiring harness ot the engine is unplugged or shorting. You need to take it back apart. It's not normal to have so many random faults at once. I would start with the number 6 injector wiring since the rest of that bank seems to be working. Does that make sense or should I try to be more detailed?

I'm not going to sound like much help here but here it goes:

AUDI A6 MAF SENSOR PROBLEM
Thanks guys but I've been a twit all along. With injector 6 plugged the firing seemed fine but there still was CMP sensor error. When I replaced the broken water pipes I disturbed CMP bank 2 which was already broken and had been helped to work by some sort of adhesive. One wire was broken and I joined it but did not have access to soldering, so this poor joint would sort of arc as I drove and had some bad jerks if I sat on 70kph.
The jerk prompted me to look again and found nothing untoward but now I had access to soldering tools so I did the solder and the EPC light was gone like it was never there. The jerk disappeared and transmission was fine.
ESP and ABS were the last headache and what a silly problem it was!
Fuse 42 was blown. Some dude had put 5A fuse instead of 25. Put it in and I am smiling all the way to the local.
Thank guys.
