2.7T EPC light on, won't restart?
Wondering if anyone else has seen a similar problem:
During Sunday's East Coast heat wave, the EPC light on my 2000 2.7T came on and power dropped to just enough to keep moving. When I turned the car off it wouldn't restart. About an hour later, it started and ran OK. Got home, turned it off, wouldn't restart again - for an hour?
Dealer's had it for 2 days now, supposedly working with the engine (power) computer (EPC), but not fixed yet.
Driving a 99 Ford Escort 'loaner' is the pits.
Any ideas?

Re: 2.7T EPC light on, won't restart?
Most probably your engine got flooded because of coolant temperature sender failure. I had the same problem recently. The sensor would signal that it was minus 48 C, and the ECU would give the hot engine suoper rich mix flooding it. It won't restart, and would often go into EPC mode. Then after cooling down things would be back to normal again.....Check the sensor!
