Default Mega, mondo, hyper repost warning. Lightest, strongest wheels with light weight tires will provide

best handling, comfort, acceleration and braking. Forged or semi-forged SSR, Volk, Fikse, etc.

Ignore styling if performance and comfort are your goals.

The search button is your friend. These responses are the tip of the iceberg. You are missing an incredible wealth and depth of information from those who have gone before you.

Default OK, interesting data point. But that's a misleading answer then.

The proper answer was "yes, but I'll tell you one way to overcome the harsh ride"

Because he could switch to the General's have have an even better ride on the 17s.

Or maybe he wants the Michelins ( Generals have a bad rep for roundness according to TR, Michelins, best int he industry).

Default I went from 17" to 19" and the ride was softer/better.

Much more depends on the rubber, in my experience. My 17" rims had Kumho tires, and 19" had goodyear eagle f1's.

Default Unless other factors also changed, that is not possible.

If you went to vastly lower overall mass, maybe.
if you went from a hard sidewall to a soft one, maybe.

If oyu just like a hard ride, maybe.

But the idea that pneumatic tires are stiffer than aluminum alloy is simply not a possibility.
