Default 04-05 allroad or 02-03 S6?

OK, let's take purchase price and resale out of the equation, figure they both have around 70,000 miles, they are both out of warranty, and figure you can chip the 4.2 allroad for similar performance to the S6..... based on maintenance and repair $$ + irritation, and any other criteria, which is the better car to own, and why?

Default Air suspension on the allroad would concern me, I know some have been converted to

conventional suspensions due to the expense.

Default Loved the Allroad when they released it with the 4.2...

...just on that fact alone makes it the winner for me.

Default Arnott is now producing better than OEM replacement suspension parts for cheap

with a lifetime warranty. So the air suspenssion is no longer a scary expensive item to replace....

Default we have had snow for two weeks in the PNW. everyone is wishing they had an allroad.

the suspension really is pretty cool for snow and off road. the car will go anywhere...

plus the AR looks way better than the S6 imho...

and the AR has a few hundred extra lbs of armor (skid plates, thicker body panels, protected brake and gas lines etc)... and the AR has two tone interior (i love it)

+ if you want a 6sp the allroad is the only option.

the S6 will handle better due the the suspension. but the AR with h-sports comes pretty close.

Default when we were looking for a 4.2 AR we couldn't find one...

but ended up seeing 4 S6's and haven't looked back. BTW allroadCole is right, the Arnott bags are great - used them on our Rangie, too.
