Default 02 A6 C5 3.0 Engine Failure - part-out or sell?

Most of the body, interior and mechanicals/tranny still good, new tires, CVs -- 117K. 3.0 Engine flashed a CEL P0306 and then threw a rod. Am I better off parting out or what's this thing reasonably worth on salvage for whole car?

Thanks in advance.

How did you know it threw a rod?

If you end up parting it out there are a few smaller parts I am looking for.

Try googling with this search string…
salvage value audi 2002 A6

Should get a bunch of sites/people that will give you a quick estimate.

Otherwise just get an online estimate for used car sales in your area for your car and deduct $4000 or so for a new engine. For example, in my area a used 02A6 3.0 has instant market value of about $6600 so it's worth maybe 2600 salvage. However, there's one for sale in Chantilly VA with 117K on it for $6K, so arguably it's worth less than $2K around here.
