Ones with rear window tints: Do you have headlight glare at night?
Looking to tint my 2019 A6, but am hearing mixed things about the possible headlight rear window glare, like the picture in this thread: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/aud...oster-3003141/ That would be very distracting and I would prefer not to tint the rear if it'll look like in the picture.
How are your rear tints and what film did you use?

My tint is illegal. It's 40% on all but the front windshield. I would imagine the photo you referenced was nit a 3M product. I've not experienced glare at all.
As an aside, A friend has 40% all round including 20% on the front windshield... talk about a blacked out car.

I have Ceramic tint on all but my windshield. I went with the lightest possible so it doesn’t look like I have any on at all and I have no problem with reflection or glare. Now I did have my sunroof done in ceramic also but THE darkest one that had so it looks like I have an all black roof.

20% 3m fil, no issues at all with glare. My wife would be the first to complain.
Same tint we have in our GTI's and my truck. 4 of our 5 carouses this tint and it is great.

I have 30% front and 80% rear on my A6 and I do get some glare, but it is nothing close to the one in the photo. Noticed it for a few days and got used to it, I dont even see it any more.

From what I see in the pic in the other thread, the glare looks like it is caused by the topography of the defroster lines on the glass - the tint has to slightly raise to accommodate the thickness of each defroster line. My guess is if the tint was thinner, i.e. more flexible, you might be able to get the tint a little tighter and reduce the glare. Also, it is possible the installer didn't squeegee the tint firmly enough? I do not install tint, so I can't say for sure if the issue is the tint or the installation, however if my rear window had those glare lines at night i'd be unhappy. I know many cars have the defroster lines within the glass, and in those cases the rear glass is going to be smooth, and the tint won't have to rise to accommodate the defroster lines. I could also see some cars having the line integrated from the factory, then if after market glass is used in replacement for some reason, the aftermarket glass could have external defroster lines.
