I'm addressing a rattle on the door of the driver's side storage compartment and I noticed that there's a toothed arch on the right of the door (see pics). . It looks like the kind of mechanism that would smooth the opening of the compartment door, but mine just drops open, hard. I'm left wondering if Audi changed their minds after designing it?

My question to my fellow C8 owners: Do you have a nice, smooth opening compartment door, or does it drop open?
