I have a bad feeling I’m about to join the club.
Started the car this morning and got electrical system malfunction and an error for the auto start/stop. 2023 A6 55 with 10k.
Added bonus, I’m on vacation 300+ miles from home. Waiting on a flatbed. Nearest Audi dealer in Knoxville has no rental/courtesy cars, so I need to arrange my own rental.

On the positive side;
1. you did not get stranded in the middle of the highway
2 the new part is much more available (mine was fixed in 3 days)
I had a similar situation. 200 miles from home and had to pay for a rental. Also started with the start/stop error message, but was able to drive it to a local dealer. I had 53,000 miles on a 2019 A6. Also had to pay for a new 12v battery (not covered).

Assume that Audi will reimburse me for rental, and with the mileage on the car, no brainer that it’s covered.

Could have sucked more. We’re on a 4 mile dead end road up in the mountains. Would have sucked going up or down and having the malfunction. Sounds like the next error will be electrical system failure.
This will probably be the shortest I’ve ever owned a car. Can’t imagine having this issue hanging over my head for our family car.

out of warranty.

Guess my assumption is that if it’s covered by warranty—don’t see why it wouldn’t be—they would reimburse me. Could be wrong. I’ll certainly be pissed if they don’t lol.

Audi called. Likely the starter/generator. They’ll know for sure tomorrow and get an ETA on repairs.
in the meantime got a Q5 loaner from enterprise. I have a feeling some of y’all are right and I’m going to eat those costs.
The dealership has a 2023 CPO SQ5. Talked to sales and going to get a trade in. The SQ5 was a close second to the A6 when we shopped. White on Red Prestige trim, might just buy a new used car lol
