Default Windshield wiper clearance to hood

In its rest position, the driver's side windshield wiper pivot arm on my 2011 A6 sits VERY close to the rear edge of the hood, no more than 1-2 mm clearance. Is this normal? I am concerned that Something will get pinched (ice, for example) and damage the hood. Does anyone know a way to adjust the assembly downward to give it more clearance to the hood?
Help!

Is your hood bent? Mine is nowhere near that close.

Default Wiper blade

You might try a different wiper blade. Some blades have the wiper arm mount further from the windshield than others.

If your A6 is a 2011, try asking the question in the A6/S6 (C6 Platform) Discussion.

Depends on whether the OP is in NA - ROW C7 was introduced as a MY2011. Always confusing when posters don't have their location listed.

You're not referring to the fact that you cant hinge them up right? There is a service position you put em in with the MMI.

My apologies, I think my 2011 is a C6. The windshield wiper setup is very different on the C7. In case anyone in this forum has knowledge about the C6, I am talking about the clearance of the base portion of the wiper arm, the part bolted to the motor pivot, that has the arm attached to it., as shown in the attached pics. The wiper arm is almost touching the underside of the hood edge.

To my eye it looks like the driver's side wiper arm is bent. Look at the gap between the wiper blade and arm (diagonally slanted upwards). I don't think there should be that much of a noticeable gap there.

Use the vehicle setting on the MMI to put the wipers in service position.
I've got the same vision on my 2015 A5. You have to put the wipers in service position or the arm will damage the hood or the arm itself.
