Default Upgrading my wheels and need some advice

I decided after 4 and a half years it was time my 2012 A6 needed a facelift. Not ready for a new one with only 34k miles so being that my tires need replacing anyway, figured I'd upgrade the wheels. I have the prestige with the 18 inch sport package. Always regretted not getting 19 or 20 wheels so I bought a set of Audi OEM 20 inch wheels that I've always liked. Based on some reading here and tirerack reviews I am going to get the conti DWS06 tires as I am in the northeast and don't want to have to switch out wheels and tires twice a year.

My questions, I have never replaced wheels on a car before, this is all new to me...is there any reason the 20's wont fit being that I had the 18 inch sport package? I assume everything should be the same with a larger and slightly wider wheel. And I live 90 minutes from my audi dealer, is there any reason not to get these mounted at standard tire shop? As far as the sensors, Can they use the ones from my current wheel or do I have to purchase something additional before they are mounted? I have to purchase new caps as they are different from mine, I will grab some from ebay or amazon I guess.

I appreciate any advice. Wheel style is below. Thanks!!!

-Assuming the wheels are from an A6, they will fit
-There are no sensors for the TPMS. All you have to do is reset the TPMS system through the MMI
-No reason whatsoever to go to an Audi dealer

Nice wheels.

Yes probably no alignment issues either.

Little too late but I had stock 19x8 split spoke 10", still have for sale ;-) but I was debating 19 or 20. In the past I did the 18 to 20 upgrade and the road noise and ride and gas mpg noticeable and annoying from the soft 18".

I have the sport suspension so it loked dropped already and I like the wide look so I went with 19x9.5 to keep my brand new 255/40/19 tire. It worked out so well.

the 9.5 was so much better than my past 20x8.5 or 9. It looks like a 20 but it also dropped the car another 1/4"! and looks so wide on the 255 it appears like a 295.

And it is a stock tire and setup so it's a lower cost to change tire from a 20.

Sorry I digress...

I appreciate the replies. I really hope I won't mind the difference in ride but I do know I am going to love the look with the 20's. I hope to get this done next week. Thanks!!!

One other tip....don't sell your original 18s too quickly. The comment I used to hear at the car company where I worked (not VW/Audi) was, "Designers love big wheels....Engineers don't". Leave yourself a more convenient path back if needed.

The conti DWS06 tires are pretty quiet and give a must more comfortable ride than I expected (I have 20" wheels with sports package). So I don't think you will mind at all.

Not sure what tire you were running on the 18's, but you should really enjoy the DWS06 20" ride...it's a very good tire.

I went from 255/40/19 Goodyear LS2's to 265/35/20 Conti 5P's and the ride improved DRAMATICALLY.

The right/wrong tire on these cars makes a big difference...

Nice choice. Those are one of the rare forged fuchs wheels.
