Yes, sound advice.....and ask them if they would allow a family member to drive with only 3/32 on a highway in the rain.....

I was looking hard at the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+, but based on your mileage reports of 10k to 15k per set, I think I will steer clear. Was that with regular rotations?

Other than the Michelin 3+, I have been looking at the Conti DWS 06, as well as a newer Conti I found, the Control Contact Sport A/S which is only available through Discount Tire at $202/tire. It has the Y speed rating while the DWS 06 is W. I am leaning towards the Control Contact Sport, but no one seems to have any feedback on them yet. Maybe I will be the guinea pig!
Did you end up getting the Control Contact Sports A/S tires? I had them on my VW Golf TDI and liked them. I would say they were louder than I would like, but not annoying or anything. And they performed amazing.

I'm needing new tires now.

You will LOVE them. At least until winter hits, or temps below about 40℉

I actually went with the General G-MAX AS-05. All reviews I had found were good ones (and I did a LOT of research on the topic). Plus a good friend of mine who has been in the tire business for many years said he had been quite impressed with the quality of General tires over the past few years. Said they really stepped their game up and are looking to push back into the top-tier market.

Also, the fact that they were $50 cheaper per tire compared to the Contis didn't hurt!

I’m between the Michelin Premier A/S and the Pilot Sport 4s. Any opinions there?
