Thinking about an A6
My A4 lease is coming up. I've been looking for CPO A4's.... but an A6 might be a better fit as we now have a kid and a carseat. Plus there are TONS of CPO's in town.... way more than A4.
Any gotcha's on the current gen A6? Like the oil consumption problems the A4 2.0T had?
Is the 2.0 in the A6 ok - maybe APR stage 1 it? Or just go for the 3.0T?

I came from a 2010 P+ A4 2.0t to a 2013 CPO Prestige A6 3.0t because of the car seat issue.
The A6 is great, the engine is ridiculous, I found myself driving well into three digits the other day on a small country road without realizing until I looked down, the car didn't even hesitate. Saying that if I didn't need to the room I would consider going back to a 2.0t A4 or even A3, I just prefer the way the smaller car drives.
I really don't have any substantial complaints about my car and it is a lot easier getting my kids in and out...

I just bought an A6 that came off a 2 year lease and I have 3 kids under 9. Works well for us except when the toddler likes to adjust the 4 zone climate controls with her feet
Def. opt for the 3.0T...plus if you want more, tune and an intake gets you close to S6 power. It's basically 1 of 3 cars I know of that can obtain 30 mpg and 300+ HP.

3.0 all way unless fuel economy is your main concern. I test drove the 2.0 and hated the car and left to test BMW 535s. Almost bought one until I went back and drove the 3.0. Way more fun to drive and quieter.

I don't know how anybody can drive a 2.0T. My A4 loaner had one and it felt so underpowered. Put it in a bigger car and I wouldn't be able to deal with it. In all fairness though, I didn't deal well with the stock 3.0T either.

Have to agree. I haven't driven a A6 with the 2.0T but I have driven a Q5. Not sure how much, if any difference between the engine in the two, but the A6 definitely appreciates and needs the larger engine.

The 3.0T A6 seems dam near perfect. I'm impressed every time I drive it.
Drove a 2.0 A4. Nice car. More tossable. But I disliked the near constant, noticeable downshifts.
Think about the kind of ride you want. More sports car: get a Prestige with larger wheels and summer tires. Not the best for areas with rough roads.
The Premium Plus with 18" wheels & Conti's gives you a tight, but more elegant ride. Almost feels like completely different cars. No right or wrong answers, just get what you want.
