FWIW: When I first got my 2013 A6 2.0 last December I checked with the service department to see if they had or could order a dipstick for the car. A few days later they called and said there was none available for that model and engine. I told them I believed there was based on what I had read on various blogs. They then said that there may well be one in Europe, but it is not approved for use in vehicles sold by Audi USA in the US.

A dipstick is a dipstick. period. This is not rocket science so boggles my mind it is not approved for US cars. The zombies are brainwashed by legal advisers to blurb the corporate disclaimers.

You can order a dipstick at ECS Tuning.

Isn't that the one I wrote in the post just before yours?

Yes it is. Thank you for the find. I was just restating for anyone else like myself who likes multiple sources when available. Again thanks.

I just tried ECStuning for the 3.0 TDI dipstick. They don't sell Part #059115 611 AB either. Looks like it is indeed Europe or bust.

Think of all the weight savings by omitting a dipstick. Those precious grams will save you 1/4 gallon of fuel annually.

You could also try ebay.

This one says it's for a 3.0TDI (Audi A8):
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/02-09-AUDI...item4d12f34366

This one is close but it's got a C instead of a B in the part number (i.e. 2.5TDI):
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-V6-2-...item27cfde6e8f

Maybe someone can explain what this one is (and maybe I need this one):
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AUDI-A4-A5...item5ae5066b32

This appears to be a possibly cheesy copy of the OEM dipstick that could work in a 3.0T. But if you're in the US, why mess with it when, after the exchange rate, it's about the same cost as the Audi OEM version you could buy from a reputable retailer like ECS and others?
