I also had to change the size, I couldn't play any of my "HD" movies (480p and above). Anything up to 400 pixel high played fine.

Album art works with the SD card and the built in HDD with a maximum resolution of 800x800p. The red cable does the job too.

I know about the hdd, who wants to load their entire iTunes library into the hard drive ? Not me. I want the new software since I was one of the first a6 's on the road.

I'm from the D4 A8/A8L forum and am not able to view the album cover art when using the red grommet AMI cable attached to my iPhone 4S and I have what I believe is the latest MMI software version: HN+R_US_AU_P0487

My vehicle (2012 A8L) was built in February and I've had it for 3 weeks.

I also tried two other new Audis at my dealer, a 2012 A8L built in Dec, 2011 and a 2012 A7 built in Jan., 2012. Both have the same MMI software version as mine. Neither of them showed album cover art.

Is there a "trick" to getting this to work? I just read this entire thread and it would seem I have the correct MMI software version. I haven't tried the power down/power up of my iPhone yet (as was discussed in this thread) but I'll try it today.

You'd think this would be a simple "plug 'n' play" feature but it seems to work for some and not for others.

One other question---If I load my music library to an SD card, is there a way to transfer the album art to the card as well so that it shows up on the MMI screen? I'd rather just use the cable but a workaround could be the SD card.

Any/all help is appreciated.

your software should does support the cable. If it didn't you would get an error message that the cable isnt supported, or you would see an unsupported cable message.

try Powering off you iPhone and powering it back on again and try connecting it again.

Also try going into settings and see if track info is checked.
