Fuelly show a 20.8 combined mpg for the 2011/2012 A6 with the V6 gas engine. That's for about 300 fill ups on 17 cars.

2.0T CVT. Long-term memory was at 29.1 mpg, 37 mph avg speed, 979 miles. Manually calculated for those 2 tanks was 28.8 mpg. Considering the avg speed, I would estimate I do about 70% highway. But my 'city' driving is very economical too because it mostly consists of 1-2 mile stretches of cruising at 50 mph (instant mpg around 40 mpg) between traffic lights and coasting from 0.5 mile out up to red lights.
The short-term memory is of course all over the place and I don't trust it until it goes over 200 miles. It resets after you don't drive your car for a few hours.
My fuelly log in my sig shows 31.5 mpg over 6,000 miles, which includes a 2,000 mile roadtrip.

Mine shows 29.2mpg on the long term memory. Long distance highway driving at 70 mph. I know it is off but I will hand calculate tomorrow or Sunday when I fill up for next week.

I reset long term on fill ups, and short term on trips where I am curious about MPGs
Car always gets in excess of 30mpg on the highway.... usually in the 65-70mph zone... If I drive super aggressive, it obviously goes down.
Queens NY area- so a lot of congestion and lights... generally around 17mpg, but that includes idling time, traffic ,etc...
When the conditions are right, I've gotten over 35mpg on 200+ mile road trips. its mind blowing that a car that can zip to 60 in 5 seconds, weight 4200lbs, and still get 4 cylinder EPAs

From my phone app (Mileage), these are calculated values (not DIS). The last fillup (yesterday) was at 10,177 miles.
Average: 23.50
Worst: 17.26
Best: 27.82
I have seen the DIS report as highs in the low 30s, but I really dont trust what I see there EXCEPT directionally. The 27.82 was crossing Nebraska at 80mph. Ive never done a full tank at 70mph, but I would guess that I would approach 30mpg calculated if I did.
The 17.6mpg was all in town, with traffic.
Im quite pleased with the mileage Im seeing. While Im not an "agressive" driver, I certainly dont baby the throttle (why have a car this fast if you dont enjoy it).

Man.. what in the hell are you guys doing???
My Avg. according to Fuely is 18.9. Only once since I've owned the car was it higher and I did alot of highway miles on it.
I don't drive my car to work every day but to the commuter lot. It's maybe a 10 min drive and my fuel rating for that short drive will be something like 12mpg on my short trip avg.
Now on those days where I do drive to work 15 Miles, my short trip avg will be around 19-20-21.
My Long trip avg is always 19.* something. (my long trip is reset at each fuel up).

Rush2112, I am with you. My numbers are in line with yours. I have no idea how those folks drive when they're getting 22 mpg in the city. I drive to work every day about 19 miles, mostly city, and I am getting 18.5 mpg per long-term memory. Despite my screen name, I don't really smoke my tires at every light , but I don't feather the throttle either (why buy a 3.0T with 310 HP otherwise).

I drive about 90-110 miles round trip daily. About 5-10 miles total is exiting my neighborhood and some short city off the freeway to my office driving. The remainder is all open highway 65-70+ mph driving.
I can set the cruise and I have seen 35mpg but I was only driving like 60. Just wanted to see what it would say.

At least in my case, some of the differntial may be explained by altitude. Home is at 5011 feet, and my understanding is that can have the effect of increasing mileage (at the cost of performance).
I would not think that would explain the diffential between 18.9 to 23.5 - but that could be the difference in the driving profile. While I have a fair amount of in town driving, I live in a nedium sized town where I know the light patterns well... so I can often travel from one end of town to the other at 40mph and not get stopped at a light. THAT may well explain the difference.
