Pigeon 1, Audi 0..Help!!!

Pigeon 1, Audi 0..Help!!!
Hit a pigeon on the highway yesterday, didnt even see him just heard a thump. Pulled over and the drivers side headlight is cracked. dealer wants $1100 to replace. you cannot just order the headlight assembly as all bulbs and ballast are included. my questions is can i just order a headlight assembly off of eBay and just move the ballast and bulbs over.

As shown In the diagram and list, there's not many individual, replaceable parts without replacing the entire headlight assembly (including the LEDs). Which ain't cheap.
For those of us with LED headlights if out of warranty, be nervous. Be really nervous.
To the OP, I'm guessing the $1100 the dealer is quoting you is for the whole assembly less your parts that can be reused (and possibly the new ones sold separately). At least that's the way the math seems to add up.
BTW, once again I ask, what's with all these aviary critters lately? We have birds, turkeys and now pigeons.

So the Audi extended warranty excludes "light bulbs" so I wonder how they classify LED Headlights? I see loop hole for the warranty company here to get out of paying of the LED headlights fail.

just looked at snagits link.. damn $1900...
cheapest is eBay but not able to find one with all mounting tabs still attached
ordered a new one from Bernardi $700 plus shipping. lets see what it comes with.

Holy #($& batman, is it time to mount up SUV style critter catchers on the front of our A6's? I probably need to be banned for audi photo abuse.

If you are all handy, you could buy a ebay headlight unit with broken tabs and swap the lens over. Generally speaking, some lens are held on with a adhesive that softens with heat. I've opened a few headlights and tail lights in the past.
