Default Lack of power: CVT?

I have a 2.0T FWD CVT. This is my first CVT. One thing I noticed is when I start to accelerate at low speed I hear noise and feel like need more power. It's kinda noise and feeling from shifting gear up too early if you are using manual shift. If I step on accelerator hard it does ok though. Is this common in CVT?
Thanks.

Yep! The CVT shift points are IMO too early! It results in very good fuel economy but right at the brink of a harshness!
In stop and go traffic, I keep it in manual mode in the gear of my liking to prevent it from shifting up too soon to keep the power on hand!

I do not consider myself as "sporty driver". I increase speed very gradually. Fuel economy and eco friendly are all fine and good. But I feel like this is premature shifting up. is there anything we can adjust?

Thanks.

The CVT uses a "Dynamic Regulating Program" to choose the optimal gear ratio according to the engine load, the driver's usage of the gas pedal and driving conditions. If you feel that the engine rpm is too low, and you would like higher rpm and more power, the answer really could be as simple as pressing the gas pedal harder.

But another thing to be aware of with the 2.0 turbocharged engine is that there is a bit of turbo lag, especially if you are just coasting along at 1,200 rpm and then hit the gas.

I'm in a CVT loaner right now and I hate the lack of oomph it has when accelerating. Not fun to drive at all.

Less "oomph" but more mpg/lower cost to buy. There's always a tradeoff.

It's funny I had a conversation with my GD about cost to buy yesterday. The A4 they have me in has a sticker of 37k. I was telling her that I would rather get a loaded Accord at that price. But of course that's just personal choice.
