That may be the issue...the day I "jiggled" the wire harness sleeve "just in case" was also the day the problem stopped...I've parked in the sun a number of times, just to be sure, and I no longer have trouble with any of the issues I'd previously posted.

Fingers crossed, heading out on a pretty long road trip for the holiday. Still keeping my appointment for mid-month; if it's worked loose enough to become affected by the heat/sun once, it will probably happen again.
