Question from New Owner
I am new to Audi and just picked up a MY2014 3.0 Prestige (Glacier White Metallic) on Saturday. It has been a while since I've bought a brand new car. Is it recommended or necessary to get the car waxed? I'm on the fence about getting any of the protective coatings that I have seen recommended here. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Congrats-I have the same color and love it.
Is it recommended or necessary to get the car waxed? ever? yes of course...
If you are asking to do it right away? Not needed-when you have a free day or even half day, wash it well, do a treatment of your choice (I love Zaino's but to each his own) and plan to do it 2-3 times per year.
The protective coatings here seem to have some good feedback but are more expensive and not permanent except when you start looking at the clear wraps that provide a plastic layer of protection

yes, wax it. if you are not sold on the protective coatings here, I recommend you use Duragloss 105 or 111 mixed with Duragloss 601
http://www.duragloss.com/Exterior-Po...Coat-Polish%29
Inexpensive
You can find it at places like Autozone and others
Used and spoken highly of by lots of pro-detailers
And when blended 4 to 1 with Duragloss 601 - you get at least 6 months of protection
I use a C-Quartz coating on my A6 - but have Duragloss on both my wife and daughter's vehicles and it preforms extremely well
