Default New to forum, looking at buying a 16 a6 tdi prestige

As the thread title says I’m looking into getting a 2016 tdi prestige.. found one semi nearby that has 63k miles on it and they’re asking around 25k for it.

Are these quality vehicles and is there anything I should be worried about with the Diesel engines? From glancing over the carfax the dealer has provided it looks like it has followed the required maintenance when needed.

I’ve had a 15 s3 and then switched to a 12 a6 that I currently have. Leaning towards the tdi because of the better gas mileage and the heads up display.

Thanks in advance for your responses and advice

I have been very happy with my 2015 TDi. It is a torque monster and has been trouble tree. The EPA fix extended warranty can be a huge plus. my car is under warranty all the way up to 157k miles!

Don't wait, purchase before someone else gets it !!

The engine is incredible. I have had no issues in 62K miles, and have not yet done the fix. As Kevin notes, with the fix you are getting a substantial extended warranty.

Agreed. Only 12k on mine, but I love the engine. Tons of torque (more than an S6) and great mileage to boot.

A few TDI's out there with significantly less mileage at decent pricing if you do a search on the auto sites. Either way do it. It's a lovely engine. .02

I had a 2014 TDI and loved it, then found a new 2016 TDI on the dealer lot after the fix was done in May 2018. The fuel economy/torque combo is amazing.

The 3.0 TDI is a gem, 92,000 on mine, uses no oil between 10K changes, not one issue with the car EVER. Buy it!!

Not a problem here. Great vehicle. Just make sure to run it to get hot so it can regen. If you get a CEL chances are it's due to that (speaking from experience).
