Default Tire size on 20x9

What's the optimal tire size on 20x9 with et 35? Either running Pilot Sports or Contis.

255/35/20 is the recommended fitment to keep your speedometer honest. You can also run 265/35/20. I don't think you'll really notice a "stretch" to the tire until you hit the 9.5" width mark, but that's also dependent on the brand of tire.

That's my worry with 9". Not a fan of the stretched look.

There is a 40+ page wheel and suspension gallery in the B8 S4 forums on Audizine. Recommend you take a quick look at that thread and the other wheel fitment thread also stick'd there. Although the majority of those cars are running 255/35/19 tires, many of them are running 9-9.5" width wheels. Should allow you to get an idea of how much stretch you can anticipate.

I use to run 255/30ZR-20 Hankook Ventus V12 on my 20x9 wheels and had no stretch. I also ran 265/30/20 on the S4 with same wheels and looked great but rubbed since I was lowered.

Most people in the S6 and A6 forums run 265/35/20 with a 20x9 inch rim. Stock is 255 on an 8.5 inch rim. You are adding half an inch in rim and .39 inches in tire width. Overall diameter will be increased slightly when going from 255 to 265 as well. It will throw off your speedometer and odometer by a negligible amount.

You won't have rubbing issues at a 35mm offset.

I'm running 265/35 on my 20x9. You could even go 275/30 probably with ET35 (I'm running ET25).

Is that stock dynamic ride height?
