Hi all,

I have noticed my car (2013 A6 3.0T) making rattling noise at a certain RPM for almost 2 years now. I finally got a chance to locate the root cause and video record it.
I hope I can get some advice or diagnose from here to decide what to do next. I think it's the muffler vibrating.

There seems to be some kind of corrosion on the pipe which muffler is vibrating like crazy.

Sadly it’s normal for the resonators to rattle.

Do you mean that's normal and I don't need to worry about it?

At some point in time the resonators will start rattling. Seems to be something loose inside the outside cover. It’s a nuisance but not something that is bad. Mine rattle on my A7 since we bought the car at 142k, I am at 224k and no worse for wear.
