Yeah, I would err to stay away unless you are in this for love, not money.

I very luckily have had excellent history with my German cars except Mercedes-Benz. Have also had excellent history with US cars (including Chrysler). I will say though, the Acura TLX I maintained for a close family member was one problem after another. Other Honda's we've had have been great.

Well not the news I wanted to hear. Lol. Especially the wife, she LOVES it. We took it out for about 4hrs today, long cruise on the highway @ 80mph. Runs smooth and quiet. Actually pretty peppy for a 2.0. I tested everything out, works flawlessly.. what are the high dollar things I would be looking at. Looking at the records it's been kept up very well. Thanks guys.

Motor mounts, control arms, wheel bearings, any and all rubber and/or plastic components exposed to heat.

I think I can tackle those things. Looks like its due for its 115,000 service? What would that consist of?

While mileage is a factor, many of these items are more dependent on time as well has heat and cool cycles. The plastic & rubber in the engine bay will still be fine for a while. These C7 A6s are far superior in reliability from the previous generations. If you do decide to purchase, I would highly recommend fluid changes on the transmission, differentials and transfer case. There are a lot of higher mile C7's out there with very little issues.

I can do all fluids my self. Watched a bunch of youtube videos on it today. Crazy looking oil filter. If we do end up with it I'm sure I'll be on here posting a lot more for ideas and info. I mean I built a 9.20 twin turbo mustang what an 2016 Audi to tackle, 🤪 Thanks guys.

After reading this forum and Jeremy's replies. Are we all being a bunch of babies? Though I do know this is a $12,000 transmission if it goes out.

I run a /15 A63.0T -- I think that this link is for the ZF 8 speed transmission -- discounted price -- MSRP a few dollars less than $9,000. Plus labor, other parts, shop supplies -- yikes -- expensive if my trans goes out. One of the reasons why I will not keep my A6 long term. Just saying....... https://www.genuineaudiparts.com/oem...-0bk300040q001

Best,
Jeff.

Timing chain ran me $10k as my old 4.2 crossed the 135k mile mark.

Those are crazy prices.. I dont know about you guys but I found 20,000 mile used transmissions for 1500-2000 (8spd) all day. I'd roll the dice on one of those bad boys before I payed $9000. How could a timming chain run that high? wow. I'm a die hard shade tree mechanic. Lol
