That seems like a bad idea. Wonder why they didn't do it like the A8 and have the heater on the side of the column.

I switched from a BMW M3.

My gripes with the A6:

**Need stronger, better feeling brakes
**At night, inside windshield is so easy to fog up - more than any of my cars. Have to turn on the front defroster and put on high.
**At night, side view mirrors fog up and would have to drive around before it dries out.
**Steering is way too light even in dynamic - Please Audi come up with a better fix to tighten steering feel. My wife's Lexus IS feels so much better and it's more fun to drive

Other than that everything else is great!! THANK YOU AUDI!

Yeah I wish it had been like that. They probably did it to cut costs.

Although I'm new to the C7 community, I have not heard of this common failure. Does this happen to majority of cars? If so, can you please elaborate on where the plastic mounts fail/make noise?
Thanks.

Since the C7 AW forum was created, this is the first time I've read of this issue. So I would say this is not "common".

I enjoyed my 2013 prestige a6 for the ~year I had it. I'll agree on a couple things others have said.

There is a little too much wind noise. Just like the a8, you could offer the upgraded acoustic windows for less than $1000, and I would have no problem paying for it.

The seats need bore bolstering with a comfort seat upgrade.

I wish there would be a more affordable stereo upgrade. The standard Bose and then $6000 for the Bang. Bose is getting long in the tooth and I wish Audi would do B&0 in all their cars....whatever level of quality.

Tires - I hate that Audi puts summer tires on every larger rim. You can offer all seasons or summer, and let the dealer order what most of their customers want. My 20" pzero tires were cupped with under 5k miles and I had to pay for tires out of my own pocket. They were so noisy is was ruining the experience of my car.

Its common enough that they released a TSB on it.

So I saw a picture of the new Audi TT wheel and looks like Audi is going all in with giving more controls from the wheel. It'll have even more control over the MMI in addition to the forward/back controls for radio and music control.
