Default LED option lights car up like a Christmas tree except trunk

Wonder why Audi overlooks trunk lighting with the LED package. Had a few things in trunk so light was not blocked but could not see much of anything in there with the one small light installed. I know you can change out housing but don't want to hassel with it. If it was just a LED bulb swithout that would be easy.
Guess I will just keep an LED flashlight in a handy spot in the trunk.

How does this hook up? Does it simply plug into outlet if you remove bulb?

I recently bought brighter LED courtesy lamps (under door lights) to replace the DIM stock LED lamps that come stock with the car. I put them in a few minutes ago and my floor lights up so bright with the aftermarket courtesy lamps amazing!

The old LED units that were under the doors before should fit in the trunk, I will check later and let you know, the LED housing is $20 something from Audi you could just buy an extra one and put it in the trunk. I am also going to put one in the glovebox.

I tried putting a LED bulb in the trunk but I broke the housing because it was a very weird setup, oh well lol.

Thanks. Let me know details on how difficult it is when you get to it.

It's a basic two wire hook up. When I receive a eBay LED, I test it across a 12 volt DC source. I also mark the wires for the polarity.

In the case of a trunk light, I would use wire taps. They snap around the wire and you squeeze them with a pliers to make the connection. They should have them at Radio Shack.

Here's a shot of another Audi owners trunk. He had a couple of under cabinet strips left over from a kitchen upgrade. He soldered the connections.

Ck 'em out...likely no housing swap required.
