Default FYI For 2.0T Owners - Important Info IMHO

Hello fellow 2.0T owners! Apologize for not being pithy....

I was changing the oil on my car for the first time yesterday when I noticed a sensor on the intake manifold, very close to the oil filter and the un-shielded portion of the wire coming out of the sensor was actually resting against the oil filter housing. In my opinion, the shielding on the wire should have run all the way up to the connector that plugs into the sensor, but it wasn't the case, and the exposed wire could be prone to damage from the high temperature of the engine block/oil filter housing. I went ahead and wrapped up the wire with some high quality 3M tape and kinda wedged it out of the way so it no longer brushes against the oil filter housing. Please see the images below.

In the interest of FULL DISCLOSURE, i did not observe any damage to the wire thus far and this was just a precautionary step!

German QA I guess - pretty **** poor if you ask me. I wonder if this is the case on the other 2.0T applications as well.
Did your dealer do the first (5000 mile?) oil change and maybe they just pulled the connector off by pulling the wire instead of by the connector itself?

Yes the dealer did the 5k oil change but i would say that they had no need to remove this wire in order to change the filter. I believe this just a design oversight that an unshielded wire has enough slack in it to actually touch a very hot part of the engine block.
