Radar detector placement
I am wondering about the best placement for a detector. Most say for front and rear detection mount it low on the windshield. The MMI screen blocks the very center.
How about below the rear view mirror. It has been years since I have used one, and now am planning a road trip to see some national parks in May.

I was looking into the window mount, and I see some adaptors can tap power from the mirror leads. Can this be easily done on the A6 ?
Or do you route a wire to down below.

Rear detection is only somewhat useful.
I have mine mounted to the right of the rearview as high as possible.

It's not cheap but I use a blendmount for my R7, fits perfect on the rearview arm, hangs under the mirror, and it picks up rear radar without any issues. I also used a mirror tap harness which made it painless to wire up. That would be my .02 on this so it's 1 option for you to look into.
