The pic below is my current version information. I have a 2013 prestige a6.

1. So my current version is 566?

2. Will the dealer charge me to do an update to 726 if take it in?

Is there a way to do the 726 update from my car myself? Like an OTA update with my 3g audi connect services?

Yes, its 0566. You can't do your own update. Dealer might charge you, depends on the dealer. Some are willing to do updates and make up excuses to get it covered under warranty, some aren't.

If even possible, so far, I don't believe anyone has reported receiving a 0726 update from an earlier version. It started appearing recently in late year MY2014s and not sure yet what differences have been identified from 0715.

So you think my best bet would be to get the 715-2?

My understanding is 0609 solved several issues that many were complaining about, ie. Bose radio performance, full song info via Bluetooth Audio. Since most of us with C7s that were able to get an update performed had pre-0609 MMI software, it's not clear what the actual differences were from 0609 to 0715. Some have had difficulty in getting dealers to perform an update under warranty without a related issue. If you don't have any problems with 0609, it's probably not worth the potential hassle requesting an update.
